WOMEN - FOUNDED
We're founded by Nicky Affleck; an award-winning leader and sports business consultant with repeated success in delivering purpose-driven strategies and delivering transformational change in the grassroots and community sports sector, with inclusion at the core of her work. She brings over 20 years of experience and knowledge having led on high-profile social change programmes, sport for development initiatives and strategic growth programmes across the United Kingdom.
“It was sport that saved me. Sport has always been my safe space and has fundamentally made me who I am. The power of sport to drive change cannot be underestimated. That's why we do what we do.
Affleck & Co. leverages this power to make impactful societal change."
Changing the face of youth sport in London

Nicky Affleck has built a successful career in grassroots and community sport, brand partnerships, and strategic consulting. She has drawn on this experience to lead Affleck & Co, a respected women-led consultancy.

Her career began in education, youth sports, and sports development, and gained momentum when she joined the London Youth Games Foundation in 2011. Between 2011 and 2019, Nicky played a pivotal role in the foundation’s success, providing opportunities for 125,000 young Londoners to participate in sport each year. During this time, she progressed from coordinating local borough participation plans to overseeing organisation-wide operations as a senior leader and Chief Executive.

One of her key accomplishments was spearheading a high-profile change initiative with Nike for the London Youth Games, as part of Nike’s broader London Brand and Community Impact Strategy.
Launching Affleck & Co.

Now leading Affleck & Co., Nicky is a well-respected strategic partner and consultant to leading sport and business organisations such as London Sport, Laureus, the London Mayor’s Office, This Woman Runs, The Jockey Club, and the Youth Sport Trust. In addition, she has worked both directly and indirectly with local authorities and borough community networks for over 10 years.

Beyond her consultancy work, Nicky serves as a trustee on the Sweaty Betty Foundation and holds a Non-Executive Director role at This Woman Runs, further demonstrating her dedication to supporting women and girls in the sport and business sectors.

For Nicky, it was important to create a space in sports business where women could bring their consulting ambitions to life—a space where they could thrive and utilise their wide-ranging skillsets within grassroots and community sport. This environment incorporates expert consultancy, with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) embedded into the solutions and approaches from the outset, to drive meaningful change for the future of sport.
